New Year- New Stories

Happy New Year!!  I'm excited to write consistently on this blog, as one of my resolutions this year!  I am hopeful that I will start to build a readership of parents who find this blog helpful.  I would love to hear feedback and comments as well!

Yay to 2009!  Happy New Year!

  1. i think you did a great blog! my son is 4 and is allergic to dairy, beef, egg, peanut, cat, dog, trees, and dust mites. he is so good with what he can and can't have and would be the first to say i can't have that if he doesn't know what something is. we always have his epipen with him and his benadryl and he knows exactly what to do. i only hope he stays this strong and this way when he is older and knows how serious this really is. he is so good about having his own food and when we go to parties and he has his special treats the other kids always want what he has because i make them homade and really deck them out for him and he loves it! thankx for sharing.

  2. Hi - I just want to encourage you to keep writing! I have a 5-year-old PA son, and I am thrilled to read about an adult who has done lots of wonderful things despite having multiple allergies. We just got back from living 3 years in Asia, so I would really like to hear about your experiences living abroad. We were extremely restrictive of what he could eat there (NOTHING in restaurants or at friends' houses except fresh fruit), and I am now working hard to retrain myself here and expand my comfort zone.

  3. Kim, It sounds like you are doing a great job raising your son with allergies! I'm glad you enjoyed my blog! Thanks for checking it out!

Susan, Wow! I would love to hear more from you about how it was living in Asia with allergies. That is one area of the world I have not yet ventured to! I'm sure it was quite a challenge there, and is difficult getting accustomed to having more options here in the U.S. I will definitely be writing about living abroad in upcoming blogs. Thanks for your support and encouragement!
